  • Helps children learn to express feelings
  • Award winning
  • Ages 2+

Kimochi™ (kee-mo-chee) is the Japanese word for feeling.  Children aren’t born knowing what all the different emotions they feel mean and what to do about them—which is why our sweet little ones tend to act on strong feelings by having tantrums or throwing things.  Being able to appropriately handle one’s feelings is an important social skill.  That’s why we are crazy about Kimochis and Kimochi characters, plush toys with feelings inside.

Kimochi™ are sweet, small pillows with a feeling (such as happy, sad, mad, brave) printed on one side and a matching facial expression on the other. Three Kimochis are included with Kimochi plush characters.  Each Kimochi character has a small pocket—allowing children to place to put their “feeling”—becoming a springboard for a helpful parent/child, caregiver/charge, teacher/student conversation.

Bug is a cute caterpillar who feels afraid of change, and is very cautious. Kids can spread Bug's wings wide, or tuck them behind its back.  Bug comes with three feelings: Happy, Brave, and Left Out.  Includes Kimochis Feel Guide. 13 inches tall.

For more skill building, add extra Mixed Bags of Feelings:  Mixed Bag #1, Mixed Bag #2.

"I believe that Kimochis™ are great because they get children to talk about their more 'negative' feelings with other kids and with teachers and parents. Here is a vehicle for coaching children about feelings, which is the royal road to these magic moments for connecting with our children." --John Gottman, Ph.D., author of Raising an Emotionally Intelligent Child

Pros:
  • Apraxia
  • Expressive
  • Good value
Cons:
My nephews have Apraxia, and as a result have a hard time funneling their emotion, and my sister says these toys have literally saved the day more than once. A great tool to help kids express themselves constructively. Sis says "worth every penny!"
