An excellent math game even math haters will love! Number Ninjas is a math game for kids ages 7 and older and offers two levels of play to accommodate different skill levels: Ninja Recruits and Ninja Masters. The goal is to be the first to reach the Golden Dragon, but in order to do that, players must collect quest tokens by moving around the board.
To move, players roll dice, arrange the dice in an equation, solve the equation and move forward that number of spaces. (The dice are not regular dice; they have a variety of numbers). When players reach a quest token, they must answer a word problem to win it. The questions are divided into Ninja Recruit and Ninja Master skill levels. Here’s an example of a Ninja Master problem: “Kiku looooooooves to send text messages. She can text 75 words in 1 minute and 30 seconds. How many words can she text in a minute?” The first player to gather all four Ninja tokens and to reach the Golden Dragon in the center of the board is the winner.
Number Ninjas is perfect for preventing summer brain drain – a mom who reviewed it said it’s so much fun that kids don’t even realize they’re doing math! Another reviewer reported that his kids actually begged him to play Number Ninjas – and their math scores really did improve. Best of all, parents have fun playing this game with their kids.
