Children Toys Store

find out how to buy the right back to school supplies and save big.

Summer is almost over and as parents, most of us are probably anxious for our kids to return to school. The new school year will undoubtedly bring on added chaos and stress with all of the school shopping that needs to be done and the busier schedules. But here are some tips to ease your stress level and make going back to school a seamless transition.

Time To Go Shopping

Shopping for clothes and school supplies is fun and exciting for your kids and probably a daunting task for you. Going shopping with a list will make sure you get everything your child needs. Before you go shopping contact your child’s school, if they haven’t already sent you a letter, to find out about dress code requirements and also to get the school supply list for your child’s class. Once you have those things in hand, here are other things to consider.

      1. Create a budget for clothing and supplies for each child.

      2. Break up your shopping into separate trips so you and your kids don’t get overwhelmed by a long day of shopping. You can do school supplies one day and clothing another.

      3. Make a list of all the school supplies your child will need. If you have more than one child, try to buy pencils and pens in bulk and split them among your kids to save a few dollars. Try to do this with notebooks and anything else you can.

      4. Backpack and lunch box. This is probably your child’s favorite thing to pick out. They can’t wait to show off their personal style with their school bag choice.

      5. Also, be sure to grab a few permanent markers to put your child’s name on all of their school things.

School Clothing

Whether your child’s school has a dress code or they can wear what they like, here are some good tips for clothes buying.

      1. Know your kids clothing sizes, or make sure they are willing to try clothes on.

      2. Try to buy a few things one size up since we all know kids have a growth spurt right after you buy them new clothes.

      3. Buy plain colored shirts and pants so they can easily be mixed and matched to create more variety in your child’s wardrobe.

      4. It’s a good idea to start your child off with 2 pairs of shoes, 10 pairs of socks, 10 pairs of underwear, 10 shirts, 2 sweaters or sweatshirts and 3-4 pairs of pants.

      5. Wait until mid-fall to buy heavier coats and outerwear since you will have a bigger selection then.

While shopping for school clothes can get a bit crazy, it can also be a great time to spend time with your kids. When you get home it will be fun to look at all of your child’s new things and have them help you organize their stuff and put away all their new clothes.

It's truly rare these days that a company not only stands behind its products, but also its customers. I have ordered a number of times from Imagine Toys, and will continue to do so for a long time to come. Everyone I have dealt with, whether through email, chat box, or on the phone, has been so pleasant and accommodating. It truly means a lot. Many thanks,
